This project involved a complete gut remodel and addition to an original 1890 home that had previously been converted into a multi-family rental. The design restored the home to a single-family residence while preserving its historic character and architectural integrity.

New additions improved circulation between floors and expanded interior spaces to meet the demands of modern living. A sculptural accent tower serves as both a defining architectural feature and a functional element, acting as a chimney and cooling tower to support natural ventilation throughout the home.

Carefully designed rooflines and overhangs were added to protect the original stone foundation by directing water away from the structure. Site improvements transformed a steep, underutilized rear yard into a functional outdoor space, including the addition of a new garage and usable backyard.

This renovation balances historic preservation with contemporary performance, creating a home that supports comfort, efficiency, and everyday living.
